Shirley J. Richards, 66, Enjoyed Garage and Rummage Sales
Shirley J. Richards (née Akers), 66, of Lorain passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a battle of cancer.
She was born May, 5, 1951 in Lorain to George Frank and Frances (née Carver) Akers. Shirley retired from the Medical Records office of Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain. She worked there for 20 years. She led a quiet and unassuming life. Shirley enjoyed garage and rummage sales. She was a member of Polish American Citizens Club.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 35 years Fred Richards of Lorain; daughters Bridget Joy of Belleview, Illinois, Briana Harter of New Castle, Indiana and Cindi Smith of Youngstown; sons Robert Richards of North Dakota and Benjamin Richards of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister Georgia Sullivan of Waldorf, Maryland and 10 grandchildren.
Other than her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother Frank Akers.
Inurnment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville at a later date.
