Kathleen J. Proskurenko, 64, Enjoyed Gardening and Cooking
Kathleen J. Proskurenko (nee Craig), 64, of Elyria Township died Sunday June 25, 2017 at her home of natural causes.
She was born March 27, 1953 in Lorain and had resided in Elyria Township for over 25 years.
Kathleen graduated from Lorain High School in 1971. For over 20 years, she owned and operated Scrubby’s Bar in Lorain retiring in 2011. Prior to that, she worked at Sears, the employment office and the Avon Lake Ford Plant.
Kathleen enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and visiting the Florida Keys.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years Mike Proskurenko, children: Aaron Proskurenko (Esmeralda) of Columbus and Natalie Smith (Chad) of Vermilion; grandchildren: Michael and Mia Proskurenko and Dale and Clara Smith; brother Donnie Craig of Vermilion, sister Karen Lewis of Sante Fe, Texas, several nieces and nephews and her German Shepherd Paula. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter & Delores Craig (nee Broyles).
The family will receive friends Saturday July 8th from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. A reception will follow at AMVETS Post #47, 3009 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
