Ida Mae Adams, 86, Will be Dearly Missed
Ida Mae Adams (nee Buchanan), age 86, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at her son John’s home in Richmond Heights, Missouri on the morning of Thursday August 17, 2017.
Ida was born on July 23, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio and was a 1949 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School. Following her graduation, she worked at General Industries in Elyria until the time of her marriage in 1952. She was a dedicated and active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, where she had been a parishioner for most of her life; she was also passionately involved in the Marian Guild there.
Ida is survived by her sons John and Jeffrey (Annette), granddaughter Lauren, and 19 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, John Jack A. Adams, son James, parents Herbert and Bertha (nee Moore) Buchanan, sister Mary Abraham, and brother James Buchanan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25th in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Edward Smith, pastor of the parish will serve as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst. Ida’s family will receive visitors in church on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her Mass.
