Ronald T. Kopronica, Sr., 75, Enjoyed Old Cars, Woodworking and Sports

Photo of Ronald T. Kopronica, Sr. Ronald T. “Ron” Kopronica, Sr, 75, of Lorain, died Thursday August 24, 2017 at Specialty Hospital of Lorain in Amherst after a short illness.

He was born April 11, 1942 in Lorain and had resided in the Lorain and Amherst areas most of his life. He had also resided in New Port Richey, Florida for 5 years.

Ron attended Lorain High School. He worked as the Maintenance Lead Person at TRW/Nelson Stud Welding for 41 years retiring in 2001.

He was a member of International Association of Machinists Local #1539. He enjoyed old cars, attending car shows, travel, woodworking, sports, hunting for beach glass and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Sharon Kopronica (nee Dillon), children: Ronald T. Kopronica, Jr (Karine) of Vandalia, Bonita “Bonnie” Kopronica-LaGana of Deerfield Beach, Florida and James Kopronica of Lorain; grandchildren: Jake Kopronica, Justin Kopronica, Nicholas LaGana, Kristin LaGana, Nathan Kopronica, Payton Kopronica and Adison Kopronica and brothers Albert Kopronica and Richard Kopronica. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Kopronica (nee Jankovic) and 8 sisters and brothers.

The family will receive friends Sunday August 27th from 2:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday August 28th in the funeral chapel at 11:00 am. The Rev. Rosalina Rivera and the Rev. Jimmy Madsen, co-pastors of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
