Antonia Bauzo, 99, Loved Her Roses, Cooking and Religious Music

Photo of Antonia  Bauzo Antonia Bauzo, 99, of Lorain passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Avon Oaks A Caring Community, Porter Pavilion, Avon following a lengthy illness.

She was born January 18, 1918 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. She came to Lorain in 1951. Antonia retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a Nurse Aide in 1977. She worked there for about 30 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Antonia was a member of the Charismatic and Cursillo Movements, also the Legion of Mary. Antonia loved her roses, cooking and religious music.

She will be deeply missed by her son Oscar (Margie) Figueroa of Lorain; brother Candidio Berrios of Orlando, Florida; grandsons Oscar Figueroa, Jr. of Lorain, Michael Figueroa of Cleveland, David (Tina) Figueroa of Boston, Rafael Figueroa of Grafton, Ernesto Gonzalez of Lorain; granddaughters Lisa Marie (Brian Michalak) Figueroa of Beaver, West Virginia, Lauren (Gage) Figueroa Hume and Christina (Shannon) Lee of Lorain; and great grandchildren Alexander, Audriana, Oriana, Oscar III, Gabriella and Alexandra.

Antonia was preceded in death by her husband Leoncio Bauzo and brothers and sisters.

Friends may call Thursday, August 31 from 4 to 8 PM at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Friday from 8:30 AM until mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will be celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Her family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Sacred Heart Memorial Fund, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain Ohio 44055.
