David Alan Tokarczyk, 60, Ardent Cleveland Sports Fan
David Alan Tokarczyk, age 60, of Lorain, passed away at his residence on Monday September 25, 2017.
Born in Amherst on April 18, 1957, he was a life-long resident of Lorain.
David had formerly been employed as a fitter at the American Ship Building Company in Lorain. Following the plant’s closing, he worked as a production assistant in the plastics industry.
A parishioner of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Lorain, he was an ardent fan of all Cleveland sports teams. In earlier years, he enjoyed visiting many of Lorain’s social clubs along with his father.
Survivors include his son David C. Tokarczyk (Quetzy) of Lorain, and daughter Jennifer Wilson (William) of Bowie, Maryland. In addition, he leaves grandchildren Victoria and David Anthony Tokarczyk, along with his former wife Sheila Yates of Lorain.
David was preceded in death by his father Ted J. Tokarczyk, Sr., mother Roberta Tokarczyk (nee Kocheiser), and brother Ted J. Tokarczyk, Jr.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church with the Reverend Gerald J. Keller officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
