Kathleen L. Martin, 80, Devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Photo of Kathleen L. Martin Kathleen L. “Kathy” Martin (nee Evanish), 80, of Sheffield Lake died Thursday October 19, 2017 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake after a three-month illness.

She was born November 8, 1936 in Lorain and had resided in Sheffield Lake most of her life.

Kathy graduated from Lorain High School with the 1955 A class. She worked for the city of Sheffield Lake as a clerk for over 10 years retiring in 2000.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Avon Lake. For most of her life, she was a member of the former Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Lorain.

Kathy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children: Joseph R. Martin (Donna) of Sheffield Village, Alan M. Martin of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, Linda K. Wozniak (Jeffrey) of Avon Lake and Juliann M. Martin of Sheffield Village; grandchildren: Annie Martin, Anthony Martin, Dominic Martin, Jeffrey Wozniak, Matthew Wozniak and Samuel Wozniak and a sister Mary Ann Doyle of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Joseph A. Martin in 1994 and parents Joseph & Catherine Evanish (nee Holey).

The family will receive friends Sunday October 22nd from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Additional viewing will be held on Monday October 23rd from 9:30 am until 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Parish, 410 Lear Rd, Avon Lake followed by the mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
