Maria Rokyta, 89, Enjoyed Flowers and Gardening

She was born October 18, 1928 in Czechoslovakia and had resided in Lorain since 1986.

Maria was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her daughter Anna Cimbal (Peter) of Parma and grandchildren Monica A. Cimbal of Parma and Peter M. Cimbal of Athens, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Michael Rokyta in 1991, sister Anna Jacikova, brother Julius Mizicka and her parents.

The family will receive friends Tuesday October 24th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain where the Parastas Service will be held Tuesday at 6:00 pm. Panachida Services will be held Wednesday October 25th at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th St, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. Nicholas Rachford, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
