Vasiliki Ioannidis, 95, Loved to Spend Time with Family
Vasiliki Vicki Ioannidis, 95, of Lorain, our pillar of strength, enduring so many hardships, admired by all, fell asleep in the Lord, November 25, 2017, at her home.
She was born July 10, 1922 in Pixos Orovo Florina, Greece.
She immigrated to the United States in 1959. She worked for 8 years at Joseph & Feiss as a seamstress, and a short time at Farmer Boy Restaurant.
Vasiliki was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Lorain.
She loved to spend time with her family, especially grandchildren, friends, and also enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, watching the Cleveland Indians, and going to the casino.
She will be reunited with her loving husband of 69 years, Alexandros. She is survived by her son Michael (Elka) of Sheffield Lake; daughter, Aneta (Michael) of Avon; brother George (Bette) Michaelidis of New York; grandchildren, Amy (Bryan) Barnes; Lisa (David) Lindblom, and Alexandra and Arianna Fine; great grandsons, Gavin and Nicholas Lindblom, and is loved and cherished by many cousins, nieces, and nephews around the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Sotiria Michaelidis; brother, Spiro (Pana) Michaelidis; sister, Theodora (George) Kiricov, and beloved cousin, Aristides (Helen) Papadopoulos.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, November 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain where a Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Friends may also call on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Boulevard, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Michael C. Gulgas, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
