Mary Carol Turner, 87, Former Sheffield Lake Woman-Of-The-Year

She was born March 15, 1930 in Cleveland and had resided in the Lorain area since 1957.

Carol worked as a Nursing Assistant and Volunteer at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.

She was an active volunteer in the community having served on the Board of Trustees for the Sheffield Lake Community Center, assisting the Meals-on-Wheels program and the Lorain Palace Theater. In 1995, she was named Sheffield Lake Woman-Of-The-Year. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain and enjoyed traveling and arts and crafts.

Carol is survived by her son Philip Clark (Peggy) of Bridgeville, Delaware; granddaughter Christy Clark of London, England; stepson Gary Turner (Charlotte) of Copley Township; stepdaughter Patricia Downie of Elyria; 5 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Clark, 2nd husband Dean Turner, son Michael Clark, parents Walter & Ann Brenenstuhl (nee Boyle), sisters: Frances Timothy and Peggy Krause and brother Richard Brenenstuhl.

The family will receive friends Monday December 4th from 10:00 am until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E Erie Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Edward Smith, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
