Joyce M. Reinhardt, 88, Dedicated Homemaker, Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Photo of Joyce M. Reinhardt Joyce M. Reinhardt, (nee Smith), age 88, of Elyria, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside at Amherst Manor Nursing Home on the afternoon of Tuesday January 9, 2018.

Born in Elyria on June 5 1929, Joyce was a graduate of Elyria High School and a life-long resident of Elyria.

A dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, Joyce was an accomplished woodcarver. She was a member of the Ravenwood Woodcarvers Club who possessed a special fondness for crafting statuettes of Santa Claus that were shared with family and friends.

She is survived by sons Timothy (Judy Stabel) Reinhardt of Ames, Iowa and Thomas (Debbie) Reinhardt of Amherst, grandchildren Brian Reinhardt, A.J. Reinhardt, Janiece Cheap, and Meredith Stabel, along with great grandson Declan Cheap.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Reinhardt, parents Allan and Gladys (nee Wilson) Smith, and brother Daniel Smith.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Reverend John Jackson, Chaplain for Mercy New Life Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
