Connie Oleska, 96, Enjoyed Reading and Spending Time with Her Family
Connie Oleksa (nee Carpenter), 96, of Elyria, died Thursday April 5, 2018 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.She was born May 28, 1921 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain and Elyria resident.
Connie graduated from Lorain High School and worked as a secretary for Attorney Henry Webber Sr for over 20 years.
She was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain and enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and her family’s pets.
She is survived by her children: Michelle Birkline (Charles) of Amherst and Michael Oleksa (Kim) of Elyria and grandchildren Jake and Josh Birkline and Michael Oleksa. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Oleksa in 1996, parents Giuseppe & Maria Carpentiere (nee Alleruzzi), sisters: Annette Carpenter and Louise Carpenter and brother Joseph Carpenter.
The family will receive friends Sunday April 8th from 2:00 pm until the time of closing prayers at 4:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor of St. Peter Parish in Lorain, will preside. A private family committal service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
