Carmen L. Delgado, 64, Friend to All

Photo of Carmen L. Delgado Carmen L. Delgado (née Matias), 64 of Lorain, went home to the Lord Thursday, April 12, 2018 at O’Neill Healthcare, North Ridgeville, after a lengthy illness.

She was born July 16, 1953 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Armando Matias, Sr. and Herminia Morales Gonzalez. Carmen came to Lorain from the Bronx, New York in 1986.

Carmen worked for Aramark Services at Lorain Middle School. She was and a member of Casa de Dios Y Puerta Del Cielo, Lorain, where she served as a church secretary and treasurer for 23 years. Carmen was devoted to her faith and the Bible. She was a friend to all and loved her grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters Adamaris Delgado, Ruth Vazquez and Roseann Torres all of Lorain; her sons Jose A. Delgado, Jr. of Melbourne, Florida and Juan Delgado and William Torres both of Lorain; brother Luis A. Matias of Puerto Rico and 19 grandchildren.

Other than her parents Carmen was preceded in death by her brothers Armando Matias, Jr. and Jose Luis Matias.

Her family will receive friends Monday, April 17 from 6 to 8 PM in Casa de Dios, Puerta del Cielo, 220 East 28th Street, Lorain. Her funeral service will be there at Tuesday at 10 AM. Rev. Tina Martinez, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
