Milica Simoff Knezevich, 95, Enjoyed Singing and Dancing
Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen! It is with a joyful sorrow that we announce that Milica Simoff Knezevich, 95, entered into eternal life on April 15, 2018 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones.
Beloved mother of James Simoff (Lily), Donna Vidrick, Nancy Banjoff (James) and Gloria Leonard (Gene). She is survived by 9 blessed grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; preceded in death by her loving husbands Lazor Simoff (1976) and Milivoje Knezevich (2004), Daughter-in-law Ilinka Simoff and Son-in-law Jeff Vidrick as well as many other family members and close friends.
Milica was born to Mara and Mihail on May 29, 1922 in Bitola, Macedonia, immigrated to the United States on August 16, 1938 and made her home in South Lorain for more than 73 years. She was known for her faithful devotion to God, being an integral part of the formation of SS. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church which provided a solid foundation from which her family grew and prospered. Her joys included singing, dancing, crocheting, storytelling, reading and watching the CAVS, but her greatest talent was in showering her guests with hospitality and abundantly prepared food.
Visitation held at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, 3056 Reeves Avenue, Lorain, OH. on Thursday, April 19 from 4-8 p.m., with prayers for the departed (Parastas) at 7pm. Funeral service on Friday, April 20 at 10 a.m. at the church, Rev. Fr. Paul G. Monkowski officiating. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
