Katherine M. Gargalianos, 90, Enjoyed Greek Dancing and Singing

She was born March 3, 1928 in Wheeling, West Virginia and had resided in Lorain since 1953.

Katherine was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lorain for over 65 years, sang in the church choir for over 50 years and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Women’s Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed Greek dancing, singing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons: Angelo “Lee” Gargalianos (Patricia) of Lorain, Pete Gargalianos (Darlene) of Elyria and Steven Gargalianos (Michele) of Akron; daughter Patricia Gargalianos of Avon; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Gus Gargalianos on October 1, 1994, parents Peter and Paulene Mormanis (nee Vassilou) and 4 brothers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday April 24th from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain where Trisayion Prayer Services will be held Tuesday at 7:45 pm. Additional viewing will be held on Wednesday April 25th from 10:30 am until the time of the Divine Liturgy at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Blvd, Lorain. The Rev. Protopresbyter Michael C. Gulgas, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
