Helen Sultzer, 86, Dedicated Wife, Mother, and Homemaker
Helen Isabel Sultzer, (nee MacMillan), age 86, of Lorain, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday April 28th, 2018 following an extended illness.Born in New Cumberland, West Virginia on December 1, 1931, Isabel had been a resident of Lorain since 1952 coming from Scotdale, Pennsylvania.
A dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, she was extremely accomplished in the art of crochet. A fan of both wildlife and nature, Mrs. Sultzer also displayed a fondness for humming birds and a love for her house pets.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Sultzer (fiancé Jim Walend) of Amherst, and sons Edward W. Sultzer of Vermilion and Thomas Sultzer (Antoinette) of Lorain. Isabel also leaves ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin in 2017, by her parents Peter T. and Helen (nee McBride) MacMillan, sister Marjorie Sutor, and brothers Peter and Archibald MacMillan.
Visitation will be Tuesday May 1st from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Reverend John R. Jackson, Mercy New Life Hospice Chaplain will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
