Robert C. Dziak, 69, U.S. Army Veteran
Robert C. Bob Dziak, Sr passed away on Thursday June 28, 2018 at the age of 69 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 26, 1949 in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident of Lorain.
Bob proudly served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970.
He worked for Reliant Energy (formerly the Illuminating Company) as a welder retiring in 2007.
Bob was an avid sports fan following the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. He especially enjoyed working in his yard and maintaining his garden, bowling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Eileen Dziak (nee Goodman), children: Brian (Kelly) Dziak of Ft Wayne, Indiana, Beth (Anthony) Cafardi of Broadview Heights and Bobby (Amanda) Dziak of Tiffin; grandchildren: Marissa, Lauren, Madison, Bella, Blake, Chase and Arya who always called him Popi; sisters Barbara Goza of Cheboygan, Michigan, Beverly (Bill) Allsop of Vermilion and Joan (Mike) Rodriguez of Grafton; brothers John (Kathy) Dziak, Jim (Diane) Dziak and Mike (Toni) Dziak, all of Lorain; sister Brenda (Dave) Jones of Wooster and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Frances Dziak (nee Keplar), his in-laws Milton and Nina Goodman (nee Plotkin) and brother-in-law Dennis Goza.
The family will receive friends Thursday July 5th from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 5th at 7:00 pm in the funeral chapel followed by military honors.
