Nancy Ross Szanty, 83, Enjoyed Traveling

Nancy was born to John and Elsie (née Keyser) Rogers on March 16, 1935 in Lorain.

She was a 1953 graduate of Lorain High School. Nancy married her loving husband of 60 years, Stanley P. Szanty on August, 3, 1957. She retired in 1995 after working 23 years for the Lorain County Adult Probation Department.

Nancy enjoyed traveling, music, dancing, gardening, going out to dinner and entertaining. She also enjoyed a good cocktail and liked her godfathers stirred not shaken and margaritas on the rocks. Nancy instilled in more than one grandchild a love of "I Love Lucy". Her incredible sense of humor, spunkiness and wit will be profoundly missed by family and friends. In her later years, she enjoyed conversation with her many visitors and friends. The backbone of her family, Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her happiest moments were when she was surrounded by those she loved.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Stanley P. Szanty of Elyria; daughters, Lori A. King of Mentor and Susan R. Lothridge (Bill) of Amherst; son, John A. Szanty (Malissa) of Medina; grandchildren, Alesha (Scott), Ryan (Jen), Nathan (Lindsay), Kaitlyn (Jay), Nicholas and Grace and great-grandchildren, Nevaya, Alaina and Coralie.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Rogers and her four older sisters, Jean, Martha, Mary and Theresa.

The family wishes to thank all of Nancy's nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who visited and cared for her in her last days. With much appreciation to nieces, Sharon, Nancy, Georgene and Hospice of the Western Reserve.

At Nancy's request, a public memorial service will not be held. Nancy's final resting place will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
