Dennis A. Bodzash, Sr., 67, Dedicated Husband and Father

Photo of Dennis A. Bodzash, Sr. Dennis A. Bodzash, Sr., age 67, of Amherst, passed away on Saturday July 7, 2018 following an illness of seven years.

Dennis was born in Lorain in 1950; he was a 1968 graduate of Admiral King High School, and became the first member of his family to earn a college degree when he graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Repair from Ferris State University in 1970. A life-long mechanic, Dennis retired from the United States Postal Service in 2014.

A dedicated husband and father, Dennis enjoyed spending time with family, the outdoors, and sports- especially NASCAR. Additional interests included the Cleveland Indians, bowling, and taking on various projects around the house.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years Gail (nee Nagel), and son Dennis A. Bodzash, Jr. of New London.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents James M. and Irene (nee Stankura) Bodzash and brother James D. Bodzash.

Family and friends may call in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel on Thursday July 12, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 noon. Reverend John C. Retar, pastor of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish (Lorain) will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
