Katherine Coteff, 90, Will Be Deeply Missed

Photo of Katherine Coteff Katherine “Katy” Coteff (née Simeonoff), 90 of Avon fell asleep in the Lord, Sunday, July 8, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Wesleyan Village Assisted Living, Elyria of a lengthy illness.

She was born February 4, 1928 in Lorain to Doncho and Stoyana (née Doinoff) Simeonoff. Katy was a loving homemaker and mother. She worked as a waitress at Three Star Restaurant and a barmaid at City Bar, Lorain for over 10 years. Katy was an active member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, Lorain. She was a member of the church’s sisterhood volunteering at all fund raising activities.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters Patricia (Michael) Ralich of Strongsville, Linda (Louis) Vida of Lorain and Joyce (Stephen) Moran of Avon; sons Robert (Martha) Coteff of Lorain and Steven (Debbie) Coteff of Amherst; she was a loving Baba to 6 grandchildren and a great granddaughter; sister in law to Helen Evansco of Lorain; many nieces and nephews including a special niece Debbie Fisher of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert S. Coteff in 1990; her parents; sisters Mary Fisher, Raina Strnad, Dorothy Bogdan and a great granddaughter Hazel.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, July 11 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Parastas service will be 6:30 PM Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Friends may also call Thursday at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, 3056 Reeves Ave, Lorain 9:00 AM before the funeral service at 10:00 AM. Rev. Father Paul Monkowski, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
