Catherine Weber, 90, Always Had a Warm Smile
Catherine Kay Weber (née Popovich), 90, of Lorain, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at Elmcroft of Lorain surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 11, 1928 to Marco and Anna (Née Zvosec) Popovich. Kay was raised in Lorain. She worked for Joseph and Feiss in Lorain. She was a loving homemaker, who was dedicated to taking care of her family. Kay was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, Lorain. She enjoyed toll painting, going dancing, church picnics, taking bus trips, and talking and spending time with her best friend, Jennie. Kay always had a warm smile.
She will be dearly missed by her son Thomas Weber of Lorain; Daughter Sandra Weber of Sheffield Lake; granddaughters Christine (Stephen) Niemeyer of Lorain, Amy (Joseph) Makruski of Amherst, and Lyndsey (Doug) Bisel of Shiloh; great grandchildren Mallory, Avery & Samantha and many nieces and nephews who were a large part of her life.
Other than her parents Kay was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years Richard W. Weber in 2013 and brothers John and Larry Spalich.
Her family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, where Closing Prayers will be Friday at 12
(noon) then Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM in St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish Church, 2143 Homewood Drive (at Grove Ave. Rt. 57). Rev. Father John C. Retar, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
