Luz Minerva Candelario, 78, Enjoyed Spending Time with Family

Luz was born March 30, 1940 to Tomas Reyes and Altagracia Gonzalez in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Luz came from Puerto Rico to Lorain at the age of 19 years old where she met her husband Samuel. While raising her children, Luz learned English and became a cosmetologist. Luz worked for several hair salons. Luz enjoyed gardening, going to the casinos, traveling, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Samuel Candelario; sons Samuel (Anna) Candelario Jr., David (Leslie) Candelario, Edwin (Miriam) Candelario and Javier (Selena) Candelario; daughters Diana (Tracey) Mobley and Melinda (Richard) Flowers; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her brother Eugenio Roman, and many nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents Luz was preceded in death by her siblings Claudino Roman, Luisa Sanchez, Alberto Roman, Herminio Roman, Ernesto Roman, and Blanca Reyes.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Wednesday from 9 AM until 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
