Mark J. Katynski, 53, Enjoyed Bowling and Playing Baseball with His Son
Mark J. Katynski, 53, of North Ridgeville, died unexpectedly on Wednesday August 29, 2018.
He was born January 8, 1965 in Cleveland and had resided in North Ridgeville for over 22 years.
Mark graduated from Westlake High School in 1984 and then served with the US Army where he was stationed in Korea.
Mark worked for the US Postal Service as a mechanic at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. He had an immense love for his family and friends, enjoyed bowling and playing baseball with his son Darion, was a huge Star Trek, Star Wars and sci-fi movie fan and an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians.
He is survived by his children: Darion Katynski and Dora Katynski (Bill Griffin); grandson Oliver Griffin, father John Katynski, mother Karen Czajkowski, brother Paul Katynski, companion Mahala Strauss Pearson and former wife Tracy Katynski.
The family will receive friends Sunday September 2nd from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 7:00 pm in the funeral chapel. The Rev Mr. Pat Humphrey, deacon of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria, will preside. Military honors will follow and be conducted by AMVETS Post #32 of Elyria.
