Rob Joe Rain, 61, Known for His Sense of Humor

He was born in Elyria on February 3, 1957 and was a 1975 graduate of Midview High School in Grafton. He later completed studies at the Ohio School of Broadcast Technique.

Following his graduation from broadcasting school, he worked for Draco Plastics in North Ridgeville; in 1983 Mr. Rain moved to Florida and settled in Daytona Beach. He enrolled in cosmetology school, graduated, and then worked for several salons throughout Volusia County. He subsequently left the beauty industry and embarked on a seventeen year career where he served as assistant manager of housekeeping for a variety of hotels in the greater Daytona Beach area. In 2002 he left his career in hospitality and moved to Port Orange, Florida. Most recently, he was employed as a sales associate in the electronics department at Wal-Mart in Daytona Beach.

Known for his sense of humor, Rob Joe enjoyed music and displayed a special fondness for the rock-n-roll and country genres. He also liked chronicling family events through his skill in videography.

Survivors include his mother LaVena Drop (nee Foy) of Lorain, and sisters Darlene Blythe (Marvin), Janice Zacharias, and Lisa Chaffee all of Elyria He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Rain was preceded in death by his father Robert A. Reinhart, Sr., step-father John W. Drop, and nephew Donald Zacharias.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 noon in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Dr. Bradley Donahue will officiate. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery
