Raul Montagu, 23, Left a Lasting Impression on Everyone He Met
On Friday, September 28th of 2018, Raul Thumpy Montagu, 23, of Lorain, left us to be with the Lord.
Succumbing to his life-long illness, he made his final journey to Heaven while in his mommy’s arms and surrounded by loving family members at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, Cleveland.
Born on June 7th of 1995 to Jennifer Montagu of Lorain, Thumpy was a character who lit up the room and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Although he never spoke a word and spent most of his life in and out of hospitals, he had the most incredible spirit. In fact, those who knew him understood his unspoken words through this spirit and his expressive eyes. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital for the impeccable care and love they showed him.
Thumpy is survived by his parents Jennifer (née Montagu) and Dominic Molina, siblings Byron Pugh, Franklin Bear Pugh, Benjamin Pugh, Dominic Molina Jr., Desirae Molina, Leilani Molina, and Debriana Molina, grandparents Robert and Linda Montagu, Susie Cutlip, and Luis and Debra Molina. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and friends who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his daddy, Buddy Pugh and great grandparents Henry and Mary Smosny, and William and Virginia Montagu.
Family and friends are invited for visitation Thursday, October 4, from 4 and 8PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, where Closing Prayers will be Friday at 9:15AM. Then Mass of Christian Burial will be at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 309 West 7th Street, (8th St and Read Ave) Lorain at 10AM. Rev. Father Daniel O. Divis, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
