Carolyn "Sue" White, 84, Accomplished Crafter
Carolyn Sue White (nee Bridges), age 84, of Lorain, passed away at Amherst Manor Nursing Home in the early morning hours of Wednesday October 3, 2018.
Born in McAlester, Oklahoma on September 21, 1934, Sue had been a resident of Ohio since her childhood. She was a graduate of Clearview High School.
Mrs. White had been employed as a sales associate for seven years in the toy department of the Hill’s Department Store formerly located on Grove Avenue in Lorain.
She was an accomplished crafter who demonstrated exceptional skill and interest in the areas of counted cross stitch and tole painting. She also enjoyed socializing with her card club friends and was regarded as a loyal fan and supporter of QVC by her family. In addition, she dedicated a significant portion of each day to caring for her pet cats.
She leaves daughters Laura Holody of Avon Lake and Lisa (Gary) Heiland of Amherst, along with grandchildren Brooke Armstrong, Lindsey Ramirez, Justin Hughes, Jordan Hughes, and Jarrod Hughes. Additional survivors include great grandchildren Madison, Eva, Cecily, Mia, and Noah.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Gene White in 2012, father Jewell J.J. Bridges in 1987, mother Virginia (nee Smith) Bridges in 1993, and sister Kathryn Clark in 1984.
Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Kelsey Jones Orosan will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
