Donald Milovich, 82, Devoted and Caring Husband, Father and Grandfather

He was born July 17, 1936 in Lorain and had been a lifelong area resident of Lorain and Elyria Township.

Don graduated from Lorain High School with the class of 1954 B and then enlisted with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska for three years. Afterward, he attended Kent State University.

Don worked as a supervisor at Harshaw Chemical Co (which later became Engelhard) in Elyria. He worked there for well over 20 years before retiring in 1993.

Don was a devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on the daily crossword and jumble puzzle, going on casino bus trips and traveling to Las Vegas. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Cavaliers, Browns and Indians fan and had long been waiting for a Super Bowl and World Series title.

Don will be very deeply missed by his family. He is survived by his children, Annette Milovich of Elyria Township, Christine Milovich Lesko of New York and Nicholas (Taryn) Milovich of Westlake; grandchildren, Adrian, Mariah, Evan, Nicolette, Nadia and Colson; brothers, Robert (Marsha) Milovich of Lorain and Mitchell (Joanne) Milovich of Loganville, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou Milovich (nee Sabolich) in March 2018; eldest daughter, Karen Milovich in September 2002; father, Nicholas Milovich in February 1988 and mother, Sophie Milovich (nee Maravich) in July 1988.

Private family funeral services were held this past Tuesday at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Father Nektarije Tesanovic, pastor of St George Serbian Orthodox Church in Lorain, officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
