Marianna Pihlblad, 70, Enjoyed Baking and Loved Spending Time with Her Granddaughter
Marianna Pihlblad (nee Smith), 70, of Lorain, died Saturday December 29, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 27, 1948 in Elyria and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Marianna graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain in 1966. She worked in customer service at Super K Mart in Lorain until their closing and then as a receptionist at a medical office until her retirement.
She was a member of St Peter Parish in Lorain. She enjoyed baking and loved spending time with her granddaughter Kirsten and family.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Tom Pihlblad, sons: Tom Pihlblad and Michael Pihlblad, both of Lorain, granddaughter Kirsten Pihlblad, brother Joseph C. Smith of Fort Myers, Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Bessie Smith (nee Ayers) and brothers Frederick R Smith and Edward T Smith.
The family will receive friends Tuesday January 1st from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 2nd at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St Peter Parish, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
