Fidel Velez Rivera, 83, Enjoyed Playing His Guitar and Singing

He was born May 20, 1935 in Jayuyas, Puerto Rico to Fidel Velez and Eufemia Rivera. He came to Ohio in 1988.

Fidel worked as a diesel mechanic and truck driver. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing.

Fidel is survived by his sons Elias Velez, Wigberto Velez, Fernando Velez, Wilson Velez and Junior Velez; daughters Maribel Maldonado, Dayna Maldonado and Denise Velez; brother Misael Velez and a sister Hermis Velez.

Other than his parents Fidel was preceded in death by his daughter Maria De los Angeles and Gerardo Velez.

His family will receive friends Thursday, January 3 from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy funeral Home, st Street, South Lorain. His funeral service will be Friday in the funeral home at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
