Jose Gonzalez, 75, Enjoyed Gardening and Music
Jose ”Joe” Gonzalez, 75, of Lorain, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
He was born August 18, 1943 in Lares, Puerto Rico to Severino Gonzalez and Carmen Velez Gonzalez.
Joe retired from Ford. He worked there for 19 years. He enjoyed gardening and music. He loved spending time with his family.
He will be deeply missed by his sons Joseph (Brenda) Gonzalez and Orlando Gonzalez both of Lorain; daughters Yvette “Evie” Gonzalez of Lorain and Jadina (Hector) Toribio of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; sisters Emelina Molina, Catalina (Luis) Diaz and Anna Delia (Leo) Rivera all of Youngstown; brothers Gonzalo Perez of Lake Mary, Florida and Rafael Perez of San Juan, Puerto Rico; his companion Gloria Ortega of Lorain; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Carmen Pagan, Maria Segarra and Virginia Gonzalez and his brothers Ramon Perez, Camilo Gonzalez and Martino Cardona.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 22, ���from 4 to 8 PM at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Wednesday from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
