Seberiana Rosado Cortez, 97, Loved Taking Care of Her Grandchildren
Seberiana Bero Rosado Cortez (née Fontan), 97 of Lorain, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 in Autumn Aegis Nursing Home, Lorain.
She was born January 26, 1921 In Morovis, Puerto Rico to Eladio and Feliciana (née Negron) Fontan. She came to Lorain in 1948.
Bero was an original member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She was a devout Catholic, who venerated the Virgin Mary. Bero was a homemaker and mother and loved taking care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, embroidering and was an excellent cook. In the 1950’s, she owned and operated a boarding house for steel mill employees.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters Yolanda Vrtachnik, Greensboro, Georgia and Linda (Peter) Soto of Lorain; sons Bobby (Cindy) Rosado of Houston, Texas and Ernie (Linda) Rosado of Greensboro, Georgia; sister Magdalena Fontan of Morovis, Puerto Rico; brother Luis Fontan of Morovis; 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
Other than her parents Bero is preceded in death by her daughter Georgina Coca Ybarra; son Bill Ortiz; sisters Paula, Carmen, Maria; brothers Felipe and Pedro.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, January 24 ���from 4 to 8 PM at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Friday from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate.
