Helen I. Battocletti, 88, Enjoyed Spending Time with Her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren
Helen I. Battocletti (nee Conrad), age 88, of Amherst, passed away at her residence on the afternoon of Monday November 4, 2019 following a brief illness.She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 16, 1921 and had been a resident of Amherst for more than a half century.
Helen had been employed as a secretary for the Amherst Exempted Village School District; she retired from the school system in 1996.
A member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain, she enjoyed spending every available moment being involved in the lives of her four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters Cynthia Vodde, Loraine Battocletti, and Caroline Druga all of Amherst, the previously mentioned grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sister Judy Conrad of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 2003 and by her son Joseph in 2014.
Funeral services for her family were observed privately on Friday in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel with Reverend Craig Hovanec, pastor of St. Peter Parish presiding. Entombment followed in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.
