Born in Johnstown, PA. He graduated from Elyria High School, 1956. Joe worked for Cole National Corp as Regional Manager in Sarasota, FL.

Survived by sister, Maxine Herber; and sons, John and Matthew Oakler; grandchildren, Matthew and Cassandra Oakler; and nieces and nephews.
