Linda M. Valadez, 69, Beautiful, Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother

Photo of Linda M. Valadez Linda M. Valadez (nee Urig), 69, of Lorain, died Friday February 7, 2020 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Keri and Todd Roby in South Amherst after a short battle with cancer.

Linda was a beautiful, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Sunday dinners with her regularly brought laughter, great food and close family conversations. She was the trusted family confidant, the compassionate, empathetic shoulder to lean on and the caring voice reminding you to do the right thing.

Linda enjoyed traveling with her family, spending winters in Florida and enjoyed casino trips with her husband, her friends and her sister and brother-in-law. She loved animals and often served as their advocate.
She was born April 4, 1950 in Lakewood and had been a lifelong Lorain County resident.

Linda graduated from Brookside High School in Sheffield Village.

She worked at KeyCorp in Cleveland for 14 years.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years Jay Valadez, daughter Keri Roll Roby (Todd) of Amherst, son Troy Roll of Avon; grandchildren: Tylor Hall, Alexandra Roby Horning (Corey), Paxton Roby and Mackenzie Roby; great grandchildren Kyler & Evelynn Horning and sister Kathy (Cotton) Keeton. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester & Isabelle Urig (nee Picken).

The family will receive friends Saturday February 15, 2020 from 12:00-2:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Rodger Roby will preside.
