Earnest William Ritenour, 77, Enjoyed Fishing and Hunting

Earnest was born on December 13, 1942 to his loving parents, Earnest and Mabel (nee Basinger) Ritenour in Normalville, Pennsylvania.

He graduated from Connellsville High School in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. He married his wife, Linda Jean Ritenour (nee Prinkey) on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1964.

Earnest worked for U.S. Steel as a crane operator for 35 years. He was a member of the Church of God in Medina, Ohio. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, going to church, going to work, and working around the house.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Ritenour of Sheffield Township; son, Earnest (Tracy) Ritenour of Woodsfield, Ohio; daughter, Crystal (Vincent) Fries of Sheffield Township; grandchildren, Cody and Samantha Ritenour: and Vincent Jr. and Dawson Fries; brother, Eugene (Mary) Ritenour; sister, Ida (Wayne) Nicholson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Mabel Ritenour; sisters, Luella (LeRoy) Nicholson and Etta (Carl) Hall.

Earnest’s family will receive family and friends on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Church of God, 1183 Douglas Street, Vermilion, from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM, Brother Mike Miller, officiating. Due to COVID-19, the funeral home and family will require social distancing throughout funeral services facial masks are optional. Burial services will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio.
