Steven C. Sanders, 65, Loved Working on Antique Cars

He was born March 10, 1955 in Oakland, Maryland and had lived in Lorain most of his life.
Steve graduated from Southview High School in 1973. He worked at the Avon Lake Ford Truck Plant as a body repairman until he retired in 2006.
While in high school, Steve took auto shop classes and that led to him having a love for working on antique cars. He also loved spending time with his family and was an avid Civil War enthusiast.
He is survived by his mother Ruby Sanders (nee Friend) of Lorain, sister Cindy Caldwell (Bob) of Sheffield Township, niece Sarah Layman (Mark), nephews: Jason Perrigan (Danielle), Seth Caldwell and Shane Caldwell; great niece Ava Perrigan and great nephew Mason Layman. He was preceded in death by his father Carroll W. Sanders and sister Sandra Perrigan, both in 2005.
The family will receive friends Monday July 13, 2020 from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Please follow the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines that are displayed at the funeral chapel entrance and throughout the building. Masks must be worn by all attendees.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 14, 2020 at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Wendy Brown, pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Elyria, will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
