Roger Lee Stout, 71, Enjoyed Gardening and Hunting

He was born in Smithfield, West Virginia on May 2, 1949 and had been a resident of Lorain for the past thirty years. Previously, Roger had been a resident of both Clarksburg, West Virginia and Cleveland.
For the seventeen years prior to the time of his retirement, Mr. Stout had been employed as an attendant at the BP Car Wash located in Westlake, Ohio. While residing in West Virginia, he worked as a service-station attendant for Exxon-Mobile Company and simultaneously held positions as an assistant manager for Long John Silvers as well as a mail room clerk and delivery driver for the Clarksburg Exponent Telegram.
Roger attended Broadway Assembly; he loved wildflowers and was known to possess the proverbial green thumb. He enjoyed gardening and hunting in his free time. None of those pastimes, however, could surpass the enjoyment he received from spending time with his family. He attended Broadway Assembly.
Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years Paula (nee Shook), daughters Tracy Barr (Adolph) and Desiree Stout (Aaron) both of Elyria, Angel Stout of Cleveland Ginger Stout of Lorain, and Melanie Stout at home, as well as sons Roger L. Stout II and Mark Stout (Jennifer) both residing in Lorain. In addition, Roger leaves sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, nephews Kencil Watson (Diedra Cox), Robbie Stout, and Duke Stout all of Clarksburg, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Francis Scott Stout in 1996, mother Hazel I. Britton in April of 2020, and brother Francis Buster Britton in 2011.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. (Please follow the COVID-19 guidelines and signage displayed at the funeral chapel entrance and throughout the building; facial coverings must be worn by all attendees.) Reverend Matt Jones, pastor of Broadway Assembly will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
