Rebecca DiMarzio, 66, Enjoyed Reading

Photo of Rebecca DiMarzio Rebecca DiMarzio, age 66, of Lorain, passed away peacefully, at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home on the afternoon of Monday September 21, 2020.

Becky was born in Pittsburgh on May 4, 1954 and had been a resident of Lorain since childhood.

A member of the first graduating class at Southview High School, Becky was employed as an S.T.N.A. at a variety of facilities including Oak Hills Nursing Home, St. John Westshore Medical Center, Amherst Manor Nursing Home, and the Lake Pointe Health Centre from which she retired.

She enjoyed reading in her free time and read almost every novel authored by Danielle Steele; she also enjoyed testing her skill at the Fishdom game. In light of everything else, her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters Jennifer Pauley (husband Scott Ricks) and Kristy Kodman (Andrew) both of Lorain, and sons Robert Simonovich (Rebecca) of Akron, Pat Simonovich (Anne) of Seattle, and Daniel Simonovich of Lorain, She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, mother Mary Ellen DiMarzio (nee Mancen) of North Ridgeville, and sisters Cynthia DiMarzio of North Ridgeville, Monica Hunt (Rick) of Wellington, Marcia Szep of Lorain, Jessica DiMarzio of Amherst, and Mary Jo Strickland (Charles) of Olmsted Falls.

Becky was preceded in death by her father Robert V. DiMarzio.

Friends may call on Thursday October 1, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. (Visitors are asked to follow the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines displayed at the funeral chapel entrance and throughout the building. Masks or facial coverings will be required for all attendees.) Reverend George Vrabel, pastor of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in North Ridgeville will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
