Steve R. Bajcer, Jr., 74, Avid Reader and Pet Lover

Steve was born in Lorain on May 7, 1946 and remained a life-long resident of the city.
He had been employed as a heavy duty equipment mechanic for the United States Steel Corporation; a long-time member of United Steelworker’s Local 1104, he retired following forty-five years of service with the steelmaker.
Steve thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop # 331. He was also an avid reader and pet lover.
Steve was a gifted mechanic who had the reputation of being able to repair anything that was broken. He also spent countless hours building and racing hot rods, as well as attending drag and circle track races throughout the north coast.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years Maureen (nee O’Hara), and son Steven W. Bajcer (Michelle) residing in Vermilion. He also leaves grandson Joshua R. Butinski and Steven J. Bajcer, great-grandchildren Ayden and Ronan Butinski, and brother Donald Bajcer (Patricia) of Lorain.
Steve was preceded in death by his father Steve R. Bajcer, Sr. his mother Rose Bajcer (nee Sarady), and sister Sandra Dorsz.
A celebration of Steve’s life and legacy is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
Contributions in his memory are encouraged to an animal rescue organization of the donor’s choice.
