Marilyn J. Roth, 88, Known to Be Stylish, Outgoing, and Spunky with an Infectious Personality

She was born November 21, 1932 in Lorain and was a life-long area resident and parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Marilyn was a graduate of St. Mary High School, class of 1951.
As a cheerleader, a proud member of the Lorain High Echos, and a model for Style Center, she loved the social scene.
She married her favorite dance partner, Donald G Roth in 1952 and welcomed three children. She worked at Kline’s Dept. Store and Ted Jacob’s before retiring with over 25 years at May Company.
In later years, she was involved in the Red Hat Society and volunteered at the Lorain Palace Theater.
Marylin’s friends would describe her as stylish, outgoing, and spunky with an infectious personality. She never missed a beauty shop appointment and wouldn’t leave the house without matching accessories, clothing, and lipstick.
An ideal day for Marilyn included sipping a cup of black coffee, playing solitaire, reading gossip magazines and baking her delicious pies for Sunday family dinners. She enjoyed playing games with her family and was actively involved in her grandchildren’s lives. Her charisma and humorous words of wisdom will be missed.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Donald Roth, in 2005, parents John and Clara Hyde, her brothers Robert and Richard Hyde, and her nephew Rick Hyde. She is survived by her children, Lori (Chris) Stack of Lorain, OH, Lisa (Thomas) Donovan of North Olmsted, OH, and David (Tamara) Roth of Jackson, WI; grandchildren, Megan Dohn, Jenna Stack, Kelli Stack, Kyle Crumley, Brett Crumley, Brian Donovan, Taylor Aaron, eight great-grandchildren, with two on the way, and life-long friend, Jean Laurenson. Due to COVID-19, we will have a celebration of life in the summer of 2021.
Marilyn, a dog-lover, would be overjoyed to have memorial contributions donated to the Friendship Animal Protective League- - 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035. in lieu of flowers.
Love ya Mom, Nana, Gigi!
