Kenneth W. Doud, Jr., 81, U.S. Army Veteran

Ken was a veteran of the United States Army where he fulfilled duty assignments as a tank driver in armored divisions throughout Europe during the Korean War. Following his discharge from the military, he relocated to Lorain and began a career as a buyer with the Elyria-based Duffin Manufacturing Company. He retired from the manufacturer in 2000 following nearly four decades of service.
One day after his retirement, Ken and his wife moved to Fort Meade, Florida where they maintained residence for the next eighteen years only to return to northern Ohio in 2018.
In his free time Ken enjoyed both fresh water and salt water fishing, boating, and golf.
He was a member of Italian-American Veterans Post # 1 and Amvets Post # 47 both of Lorain as well as Amvets Post # 22 in Vermilion.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years Coletta (nee Warmuth) and sons Michael of Lakewood and David (Lisa) of Vermilion. He also leaves four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his son Gregory, and by parents Kenneth Doud, Sr. and Dorothy (nee Carlson) Doud.
Please join his family at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township at 2:00 p.m. on Friday January 8, 2021 for the celebration of his Mass of Christian Burial; Reverend John C. Retar, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will take place later in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
