Dorothy Wisnieski, 86, Enjoyed Reading and Puzzles

Photo of Dorothy Wisnieski Dorothy Wisnieski (nee Borowicz), age 86, of Sheffield Lake, passed away at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home on the morning of Thursday January 7th, 2021.

She was born in Lorain and had been a long-time resident of Sheffield Lake.

Dorothy graduated from Lorain High School and went on to attend Oberlin Business School. She was employed in the accounting department at General Motors in Elyria up until the time of her marriage; she then relocated to Sheffield Lake where she raised her family.

She later joined Western Enterprises in Elyria where she served as an inspector up until the time she retired in 2000. Following retirement, she became active in civic government and enjoyed attending council meetings and becoming involved in causes to benefit her community.

As she became less active due to health issues, her free time was spent reading library books and solving all forms of puzzles.

She is survived by sons John and Richard (Nancy) Wisnieski, sister Margaret Walker, and nephew Steven Walker.

Dorothy was preceded in death be her parents Samuel and Stephanie (nee Kuma) Borowicz.

Burial of Dorothy’s cremated remains will take place privately at St. Teresa Cemetery in Sheffield Village.
