Carolyn J. Cantrell, 69, Head Drive-Thru Teller at Amherst Northwest Bank

Carolyn was born in Lorain on March 10, 1951 and remained a life-long resident of the city; she was a 1969 graduate of Admiral King High School.
At the time of her passing she was employed as the head drive-thru teller for the Amherst Branch of Northwest Bank; she had held that position for nearly twenty years. Previously, she had also served as a teller at First Federal Savings in Lorain. In addition, she formerly served as the manger of the Wingate Apartments, as well as a customer service specialist at the former J.C. Penney Catalog Center located at Meister Road Shopping Plaza.
Carolyn was a long-time parishioner of St. Peter Parish where she served as Sacristan for a number of years.
She is survived by her son Keith Cantrell (Roxane Tokarsky) of Lorain. She also leaves her grandsons Adam and Alex, sister Dianne Green (Steve) of Lorain, sister-in-law Diane Burtze also of Lorain, nieces Wendy and Laurie, nephews Joseph and Jonathan both currently serving on active duty with the United States Military, and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary (nee Pirc) Burtze, and brother David Burtze.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Facial coverings will be required for all attendees and visitors are asked to observe the Covid-19 guidelines posted at the funeral chapel entrance and throughout the building. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter Parish 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Craig Hovanec, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
