Darlene Zunich, 81, Enjoyed Music and Travel

Photo of Darlene Zunich Darlene Zunich, age 81, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at Mercy New Life Hospice on the afternoon of Friday January 29, 2021 following an extended illness.

Darlene was born in Lorain on October 21, 1939 and remained a life-long resident of the city.

She was a 1957 graduate of Lorain High School and went on to attend Ashland College receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Accounting. Following graduation, she had been employed by a number of accounting firms in Lorain County as well as Cleveland.

Darlene was a life-time member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church where she sang in the church choir, served on the Church Board, and was active in a variety of other church-related organizations.

In her free time, she enjoyed music and travel.

Darlene is survived by her brother Michael Zunich of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her father Demeter Zunich in 2000 and by her mother Mary (nee Maravich) Zunich in 2006.

Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Fr. Dragoslav will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Please note that all funeral attendees will be required to wear facial coverings and guests are asked to observe the Covid-19 guidelines displayed at the funeral chapel entrance and throughout the building during the visitation and services.
