Dino Pappas, 79, Enjoyed Gardening

He was born in Lorain on July 31, 1941 and was a 1959 graduate of Lorain High School; he went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Kent State University.
Dino had been employed as a supervisor at U.S. Steel Corporation’s Lorain-Cuyahoga Works. Later, he became a Certified Travel Agent and, along with his wife, operated the Travel Agents International office in Westlake for many years.
Dino enjoyed gardening and displayed a special passion for roses. He frequently designed hanging baskets to share with family and friends
He was also a lover of dogs and cats and was well known by those in his neighborhood to always have a bag of dog treats ready to share with passers-by while he sat on his front porch which was one of his favorite pastimes.
Additionally, Dino enjoyed driving his 1976 Corvette as well as travel which included numerous ocean cruises as well as sixteen trips to Greece.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years Bunnie (nee Kielar), and son Dino (Jill) also residing in Avon. Additional survivors include granddaughters Emily Pappas and Kayleigh Berendt (David Coughlin), along with great grandson Charlie Coughlin.
Dino was preceded in death by his parents Gust and Anna (nee Rozic) Pappas.
Visitation will be Tuesday February 9th from 12:00 noon until the time of a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain .Reverend Craig Hovanec, pastor of St. Peter Parish will officiate.
