Robert J. Novotny, Sr., 66, Enjoyed Spending Time with His Grandchildren

Born in Lorain on July 19, 1954, he was a graduate of Avon Lake High School and had been a resident of Sheffield Lake for the past ten years.
A member of Glazier’s Local 181 of Strongsville, he was currently employed as a project manager for Thomarios in Akron.
Bob enjoyed numerous hobbies including spending time with his grandchildren, driving and maintaining his modified 1997 Jeep Wrangler, and the on-going restoration of his recreational vehicle. Additional interests included casino trips, playing the lottery, and hanging out at Tailgators in Avon Lake.
He is survived by sons Jeff Dalton and Robert Novotny, Jr. (Aubrie), daughters Sherry Dalton and Rebecca Novotny (Greg Benyo), and mother Kay Novotny (nee Anderson). He also leaves ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brothers Joseph, Ron, Brian, Tom, and Gary Novotny, and sisters Lori Lewyckyj, Lisa Anguilano, and Sharon Novotny.
He was preceded in death by his wife Theresa (nee Sopko) in 2019, father Joseph, and brother Rick.
Friends may call Thursday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. (Facial coverings and social distancing will required for all visitors.)
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in his memory to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital.
