Helen J. Woodward, 94, Enjoyed Helping Others

Helen was born to her loving parents, Thomas and Blondina (nee Burgett) Hume, on September 3, 1926 in Lorain, OH. She graduated from Lorain St. Mary High School, Class of 1944. She married the love of her life, Robert Woodward, on September 11, 1948. Helen was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua in Lorain, OH. She lived in Lorain and Sheffield Lake most of her life but had moved to O’Neill Healthcare Assisted living nearly 5 years ago. Helen was an accountant for Hume Construction and later Woodward Construction business in Lorain where she was the director/co-owner with her husband, Robert. She enjoyed helping others and was very generous to many local charities.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert I. Woodward; her parents, Thomas and Blondina Hume; and siblings, Elmer, Virgil, Geraldine, Virginia, and Rita.

Helen’s family will receive family and friends at St. Anthony of Padua, 1305 East Erie Ave., Lorain, OH on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM, for the Mass of Christian Burial, Rev. Charles F. Strebler, officiating. Christian burial services will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH. Masks and social distancing are required during all funeral services.
