Walterine J. Mize, 96, Enjoyed Baking and Cooking

She was born April 14, 1924 in Florence, Ohio and had resided in Lorain most of her life.
Wally graduated from Lorain High School. She worked in dietary at St Joseph Hospital in Lorain for over 20 years. Prior to that, she worked at Thew Shovel, Smith & Gerhart and Ted Jacobs.
Wally was a member of St Peter Parish in Lorain and a member of the former St Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain. She was one of eleven children and enjoyed baking, cooking, playing bingo and tap dancing. Wally always kept a clean and organized home, regularly babysat her grandchildren and was an animal lover. She had been a lifelong contributor to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
She is survived by her children: Kenneth Mize (Bielka) of Lorain, Roger Mize (Sue) of Painesville, and Nancy Mize (fiancé Thomas Martin) of Lorain; grandchildren: Bielka Casada (Mark), Barbara Colandra (Mike), Anthony Mize (Marisa), Kevin Woody and Keith Woody; 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; sister Theodora Muzilla and brother Henry Klekota (Eleanor).
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Stanley J. Mize in 2007, parents Leon & Anna Klekota (nee Sukalski) and siblings: Wanda Blazina, Harry Klekota, Theresa Klekota, Leocadia Rusnak, Jeannette Mintus, Walter Klekota, Edward Klekota and Theodore Klekota.
The family will receive friends Friday February 19, 2021 from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and follow COVID-19 social distancing guidelines displayed at the funeral chapel entrance and throughout the building. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 20, 2021 at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St Peter Parish, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
