Barbara Joan Buckosh, 72, Enjoyed Traveling with Her Family

She was born July 31, 1948 in Lorain to Joan and Edward Pawloski and immediately brought joy and laughter into the world.
Barbara was a 1966 graduate of Brookside High School where, shortly after graduating, met and married the love of her life, James Buckosh. They were married in 1967 and lived in both Mississippi and Vermont as Jim was serving in the US Air Force. Ohio had her heart so they returned to the area in 1972 and spent the next 20 years raising her three daughters.
Barbara reached her lifelong goal of becoming a registered nurse when she graduated from Lorain County Community College in 1991 and took a job in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Metro Health Hospital. She was also a dedicated member of the lifeflight team that transported newborns. She worked at Metro until 2011.
Barbara was active in the Brookside High School booster club for over 10 years in the 1980’s and 90’s. She enjoyed traveling with her family preferring road trips over flying. She loved to host family gatherings, especially clam bakes, pool days and Christmas Eve celebrations. Her life was a living example of how to be kind and generous to those she was close to as well as strangers in need. Her hobbies included playing Boggle, solving puzzles and collecting Beanie Babies.
When asked what she enjoyed most in life it was being a mother as raising her daughters brought her immense joy. That continued with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years James Buckosh; daughters: Kristie Brinkman (Dave), Kathie Buckosh and Kellie Hughes (Gene); grandchildren: Kaitlin, Em and Luke Schneider, Amie and Morgan Brinkman, Delaney, Jameson and Matthew Hughes; great grandchildren: Zoey and Joey Bagdon; brothers: Edward Pawloski and Paul Pawloski (Mary) and sister Cheryl Redmond (Michael).
There will be a private family gathering. A celebration of life will be held later this year.
The family requests that donations can be made in Barbara’s name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, OH. 44192.
