Peter T. Diaz, 71, Enjoyed Photography

He was born September 28, 1949 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.

Peter graduated from Admiral King High School and enlisted in the US Navy where he was stationed in Iceland. He attended Ohio University on the GI Bill and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Communications. Peter also became a certified HVAC and Boiler technician.

He worked for Lorain city schools in maintenance until retiring.

Peter enjoyed photography, taking care of his car and riding his motorcycle. He was a fan of all Cleveland sports teams and NASCAR and was a member of St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
He is survived by his brothers: Richard Diaz (Sandi) of North Ridgeville, Francis Diaz (Angela) and Mario Reyna (Louise), all of Lorain; sisters: Mary Detling (Tim) of Mentor and Christina Livengood of North Royalton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Peter & Rebecca Diaz (nee Reyna) and sister Juanita Diaz.

The family will receive friends Friday March 26, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and follow COVID-19 social distancing protocols displayed at the funeral chapel entrance. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 27, 2021 at 9:00 am in the funeral chapel followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Dr, Lorain. The Rev John Retar, pastor, will preside. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon where VFW Post # 9871 of North Ridgeville will conduct military honors.
